Ah…Con Crud!

Ben and Mike went to Salt Lake Comic Con and then flew straight to meet the rest of the gang to tour the next place that could possibly hold Gulf Coast Comic Con! Though plans were made to record a podcast ‘on location,’ the con crud reared its ugly head and you’ll have to wait until next week to get all the details! We promise, it will be worth the wait!

Episode 8 – The Conventional Center of the Marvelous Ron Weasley

On our eighth episode, we welcome Jason back to the podcast, we hit the road to check out another convention center for Gulf Coast Comic Con, we discuss Mike and I heading to SLCC this weekend, we discuss a little more of our planning process, some discussion is had about large cons and what we call an Expo and what we call a Convention, we talk about Ron Weasley making some Dad sad and how we approach such issues at Pensacon, Ben and Mike give their secrets to finding a good convention, Will wants to eat your food at Pensacon but Ben does not, some Marvel conversation comes in to play and it turns out we just can’t get enough of it, seriously, Marvel is excellent at casting, and we have a guest spotlight who was the voice of many a childhood!

On this episode, we discuss who didn’t make it to Dragon*Con with us and the body part we left behind, we discuss a visit to the first spot in the running for Gulf Coast Comic Con, we poke a little fun at Jason, we make our excuses on why we didn’t record a podcast at Dragon*Con, we discuss a few of the things we experienced at Dragon*Con and how we do some of that stuff at Pensacon, and we have a guest spotlight for a guy that’s been a mayor, a commander of a future military force, and the kind of person that would bring chalk to a wedding.

Howdy, Folks! Today we were supposed to start putting together an epic Dragon*Con podcast for you! Unfortunately, due to hospitalizations and other voodoo, we will not be able to do that. Episode 6 – The Dragon*Con Awakens

On our sixth episode, we talk about our gang, the gang talks about Dragon*Con, we include some good tips on what to do (and not do) at Dragon*Con (and Pensacon, for that matter), some of the things we’ll be doing and places we are going there, we get the idea that Kat is a fan of John Barrowman, we discuss the 15 second teaser put out of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and what it means to us as fans of Star Wars, we discuss the difference in how we are preparing for the movie, we discuss the highs and lows (mostly lows) of the prequels, everyone has an opinion on where they went wrong, we discuss directors going bad (and some not) over time, some movie distribution stuff, and our guest spotlight who will have the inside scoop of “The Force Awakens” as well as one of our favorite HBO series!

Episode 5 – The What Who of Pensacon

On our fifth episode, we talk about how much Pensacon loves Pensacola and will be staying in Pensacola, we talk again about a few of the goals of having both Pensacon and Gulf Coast Comic Con, we discuss some of the people who help with Pensacon that you never see, we discuss Ronda Rousey as Captain Marvel as well as a casting suggestion from Kat, we revisit Farvel stuff and some other casting critiques, we learn how Mike feels about Superman, Kat schools Jason on some Doctor Who things, an announcement about upcoming volunteer opportunities, turns out there are girls who like Doctor Who now, we discuss next year’s Pensacon commercial, and our guest spotlight has a good heart deep inside that little potato. Who could it be?

On our fourth episode, we respond to another podcast that was wondering about coverage at the next Pensacon, We discuss the enigmatic event that popped up on Friday – Gulf Coast Comic Con, the whole gang talks about what we like in a convention and what our design philosophy is, we have a couple of announcements for next Pensacon, you find out what ‘SciFi Steve Dating’ is and how to participate, we discuss VIP and why some of you might be excited come September 1st, and our guest spotlight is of a guest that helped to reshape comics in the ’90s where you’ll also learn more of Jason’s mysterious comic book past. Episode 3 – Matt Ryan is Dreamy

On our third episode, Mike reports back from Tampa Bay Comic Con, turns out Matt Ryan is dreamy, we go off on a tangent that most likely had to do with Matt Ryan being dreamy, we discuss the Deadpool trailer (and the ramifications of Deadpool being a ‘good’ movie), Will and Steve give their take on the Fantastic Four movie (being the only two of us to watch it), we check in on the Marvel Cinematic (and TV) Universe and give them some suggestions (they listen to this podcast, right?), Ben makes a shocking confession that may change the way you view him forever, Jason nerds out, Kat admits to watching ‘The Avengers’ nine times in theaters (but still hasn’t seen plenty of other movies), and we have our first guest spotlight where we discuss the guest’s work and what each of us is looking forward to with having this guest at Pensacon 2016!

Episode 2 – The Fantastic Gambit of Deadpool

On this episode, Mike Ensley has gone on a work trip to Tampa (Bay) Comic Con, Will pretends to not know about Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Will and Steve ramble on about their experiences on the set of Fantastic Four, we discuss who might be the eventual star of Gambit (while Kat manages to inadvertently spoil the first season of True Blood), Jason tells us how he really feels, and how the fate of comic book movies could lay in the hands of Deadpool. Oh yeah, and Will coins the term “Farvel.”
